Nicole Alston, MSW

Center for Complicated Grief at Columbia School of Social Work

Sadly, circumstances around death during the COVID era have brought grief to a painfully intense, new level. To this end, Nicole is interested in the future of effective interventions for complicated grief in a post-COVID world, specifically for communities who lack access to bereavement support. Additionally, she looks forward to exploring how social work can prepare to provide grief support to both staff and students, specifically in low-income school districts
